At Consultation Manager, our stock in trade is managing highly sensitive data on your behalf. We take this responsibility very seriously and are committed to achieving best practices in data security and data sovereignty.
As part of this commitment we are currently working towards our ISO27001:2013 certification.
ISO27001 is a widely-recognised, international security standard that specifies security management best practices. To become certified to this standard, we must:
- systematically evaluate our information security risks
- demonstrate how our information security controls address these risks
- continuously review our practices to ensure that our information security controls continue to address these risks
- have our information security practices regularly audited and verified by an independent auditor
We expect to achieve certification by the end of 2016 and become one of just 250 Australian organisations to be certified to this standard.
Our choice of data centres is also driven by this decision. Our goal is to present a solution that is ISO27001 compliant from end to end and the Microsoft Azure cloud platform allows us to do this. We are currently testing Microsoft Azure deployments and expect to be able to roll out fully to Azure in 2016.
Azure’s multi-region capability also makes it much easier for us to address our clients’ data sovereignty needs. With data centres in the United States, Australia, Ireland, the Netherlands, Japan, Brazil, Singapore and China, Azure gives us increased capability to store and process your data in a way that meets your data sovereignty requirements.
Our Canadian clients will be pleased to know that Microsoft has announced the construction of data centres based in Toronto and Quebec City, scheduled to come online in early 2016. We will be one of their first tenants.
Should you have any questions about information security issues, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
